The Minnesota Multi Housing Association acknowledges the MADACS awards as the most honored award given in recognition of superior contributions to the multi housing industry. The purpose of the MADACS awards is to recognize owners and associates who have made significant contributions to multi housing marketing and management through exemplary achievements. The annual MADACS awards gala is the most popular, prestigious event on the Minnesota Multi Housing Association's calendar and celebrates positive, innovative, community and industry-enhancing accomplishments.

2020
Finally, in 2020, Soderberg Apartment Specialists won 5 major awards. LUX Apartments won the Renovation of the Year and Property Excellence award. This is the first time in the 25 year history of MADACS that a property in Brooklyn Center has won these awards. LUX was also honored to win Property Excellence: Built Prior to 2000 & Floor Plan: 1 Bedroom/1 Bedroom+Den.
Congratulations to our individual award winners Casey Noren (Portfolio Manager) and Christine Ripka (Assistant Manager).
Christine Ripka- Assistant Manager 326+ units (Concierge). This category is the largest property level award category. These are the most experienced and knowledgeable individuals in site management. Christine was recognized for her attention to detail, knowledge, leadership, and passion.
Casey Noren- Portfolio Manager 1001+ units. This is the highest executive level award at MADACS. Casey was recognized for her experience, industry knowledge, and her demonstrated leadership helping to keep our staff and SAS as one of the top performing companies in our market.
Minneapolis Central Basketball
In 2025, Soderberg Apartment Specialists is happy to sponsor Minneapolis Central Basketball. This is an incredible non-profit organization that uses sports to help develop youth in partnership with the Minneapolis Park Board.
Preserving Earle Brown
Soderberg Apartment Specialists was featured on CCX media for preserving the history of a beautiful property in Brooklyn Center. “The owners of The Lux apartments in Brooklyn Center saw value in saving a piece of the past. They have successfully preserved a piece of Earle Brown history in the new building.”
Garden City Elementary
Garden City students and staff had a fun school assembly wearing #YesICan t-shirts! Soderberg Apartment Specialists was glad to be a part of it through their time spent at the school and through donation.

The wow factor plays into just about every facet of the renovation, from the record breaking renovation of the mostly one bedroom apartments, to a complete and total reconstruction and rechristening of the old community “club room” as the Resort Center and Spa. “This 50- year-old property had great bones and was maintained, but due to its age and size, it needed substantial investment to bring this it into the 21st century,” says Erik Falkman, chief operating officer of Soderberg Apartment Specialists. “I think we have not only accomplished that goal, but have knocked it out of the park on many levels.”

The Soderberg Apartment Specialists World Record Renovation Team set out to see how fast they could do a complete renovation of an apartment: new flooring, new windows, new stainless steel appliances, new cabinetry, new paint, new furniture, new lighting fixtures, new window treatments, new granite counter tops, everything.
The team was already working on a 300 unit complex in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota called Lake Pointe. The complex is getting a complete overhaul. Soderberg Apartment Specialists have been renovating apartment complexes like this for over 30 years, so they wanted to challenge their team to see how fast they could renovate one apartment safely.
